Storm King Mountain was created to provide burn-over protection products to wildland fire fighters, using the latest in space-age materials and manufacturing techniques. Named after the mountain in Colorado where fourteen firefighters died in a burnover in 1994, Storm King Mountain has been a leader in providing products that use thermal insulating materials to protect firefighters in a fast moving flame front. The founder of Storm King Mountain, Jim Roth, who lost a brother in the Colorado fire, has the goal to make the best protective equipment for firefighters so that when training, tactics and safety procedures fail, a firefighter has a fighting chance of survival in a fast moving wildfire. Storm King Mountain provides custom fire barrier curtains and enclosures, fire wrap lagging for lines and hoses, AC voltage detectors, R2 incendiary systems w/ GPS, hand tools and SCBA brackets.
